  • Olympic Torch, Our House

This morning the Olympic Torch was carried past our house in Barry.

Henry Acquah carrying the torch through Barry

Henry seems to be enjoying himself!

That's our front door in the background - and my wife trying to get her cameraphone to work (unsucessfully).

All with the E-M5 and 12-50. Would have been good to have a lens with a wider aperture. A 45mm 1.8 would have done nicely but as the 12-50 is the only m4/3 lens I have at the moment it had to do.

That's not something that happens everyday! Henry was really enloying himself and why not? It's quite an honour!

He was running uphill as well. Mind you, he was probably thinking how much money he was going to make selling the torch on Ebay.
[Just kidding - I don't know whether he was one of the people that put their torches up for sale. He did seem genuinely pleased to be there.]

Past your front door - that's not guaranteed!

I'm hoping to see many more of these from around the country

I missed this post originally as we were away for a long weekend but what an amazing opportunity. The shots are all a wonderful record of the occasion but I think the one of your wife in the front garden will be one you will both treasure, even if she didn't manage her cameraphone capture - just think if she had you may have been part of the action too!
