Keith, provided you know what you're looking for, you're in for a treat!

Here's a link to just a couple of the sites I regularly use, although there are plenty of others with great advice for using what we can find for free in the countryside.

The only thing I won't touch is any sort of fungi, as I really don't know which are edible and which are not. Apart from that, I'll try almost anything and I've never been ill once..!

It's getting a bit late for the wild garlic leaves now, but why not try just a few of the flowers...I nibbled a few whilst I was out and about this weekend!

JANET...I have just done an extended walk along your River via Google Earth ...it looks like a great place to live with some lovely countryside around.
It brightened up this grey old day.
      Thanks

Fungi....you having a laugh...my idea of adventurous eating is cheese and onion crisps...well I can't live off Plain all my life.....I am not joking really !
I have never tried/eaten anything that I was not served when I was growing up and as that was in the '50's the list is not very long....this is even down to fish...it's Cod or nowt...lol
Thanks for the links....the little stream where I do most of my wildlife spotting is awash with the garlic odour as well as awash with high water...it's cleared away a lot of the old fallen branches that have been clogging it up for ages.
