All taken with the Sigma 50-500 at 500mm.The flying shot is at 1/5000th of a second.

Great shots Andy. I too have never seen these before and envy you. The Bigma is truly a great lens. Can't wait to have my E3 back from repair and get out again with it. The Bigma and E500 just do not mix

They are simply gorgeous birds, and some very nice shots there Andy.
When I started watching birds in the 1970s, I never thought I'd get to see one, but there's quite a few around now on some of the reserves.
The RSPB reserve at Minsmere and the Alde estuary in Suffolk are good places, and there's often some around near the Fingringhoe reserve in Essex.
