    Never noticed these before, probably as they are usually hidden in long grass etc. Weird plants!



    A scary close up of the fruiting body (1.5cm) reminding me of the catacombs with piles of skulls all with shining teeth!

            Nice shots, particularly the second one.

            They should look prehistoric, because they are. Off the top of my head they've been around since at least the Coal Forests era. And if you've ever tried to get rid of them in your allotment you'll see why!
