The Whitby Pier shot almost grabs you by the lapels and drags you through the picture to the end of the pier. Very dynamic. I like it.

You certainly have some great shots in your files, Paul.

Both totally different except for both being excellent.
Those "old" cameras did not let you down.
Especially love No2 - surprised to see it was at f4.

That fence shot is really beautiful. Exif says you used an E510 ? did you get rid of it as it's not in your sig. As Keith says I was suprised to see f4 too. I presume you focussed on the birds. What lens did you use?

Thank you John, at least this downtime from the camera is allowing me to catalogue them, and process them in new software to get better results than before.

Thank you Keith, doubt you will be surprised at f4 in my reply to Phill.

Thanks Phlil, the E-620 replaced both the E-510 and E-420 both which were sold on this forum to members.

The fence shot was taken hand held using the ZD 11-22mm and yes the fence was the point of focus and f4 chosen as there was no important detail in the foreground which was not close to the camera any way, so there was enough dof.
                Regards Paul.

                    Paul,

I LURVE how Whitby Pier "works" as I scroll down and away or up and forward ... It is a magical shot for on the web and scrolling - quite a high impact shot for a BOOK COVER or blog

Forge Mill is soo atmospheric ... I can feel the damp of the water and mist and the excitement as the sun rises and Dawn arrives, dressed in her Golden Gown to welcome the waking wildlife.

I cannot imagine, that these shots, required anything more than conversion from raw to jpeg for on here Just beautiful ...

                            Hi Paul,

I like both of these shots, but I think the pier would be my favourite. We'd love to visit Whitby sometime.
