  • Spring on the "Swamp"

    Lots of activity at last after a very mediocre winter with little interest apart from a few small migrants. Yesterday was ideal weather so an hour down in the hide was mandatory.

    The Mallards are pairing up after quite a bit of conflict:

    All great shots - the little grebes are a fav of mine, great to see one stretching its wings. hey do make a comical call don't they, like they're laughing at you!

        LUV a Duck David gorgeous shots and this will help me id various species as I get more "into birds".

        We did see some at a park, which I have never seen with a "tufty" top ... I shall try and find a shot for id

          I greatly admire the quality of your bird shots, David. Shooting from a hide, and no doubt a tripod, must certainly help the in camera image, a good place to start your PP.

            Thanks Mark. For these I was in a hide but no tripod as the window slot is just the right height to rest a camera. However I still use IS1 most of the time.
