I think I'm going to have a lot of fun with this lens.

Some very nice shots there Nick, and I'm sure you will have a lot of fun with the lens.

Never mind the lens. What I want to know is how you got enough sunshine to tempt the insects out.

Thank you Steve - now there is a whole different pictorial vocabulary to learn with this new lens.

Well Melaka - it was sunny 'ish' between the showers.

          I think so too.

Very nice shots Nick I look forward to seeing more.
I am quite tempted to get it myself, despite having the 50mm. The greater magnification is tempting and the quality looks really good too (as you show).
            All the best,

              Thank you Barr1e and Phil.

Just on one outing (and using hand held) I'm really pleased with the lens (and actually quite proud of the shots - especially the first one), but no doubt I'll do better - there seems to be a lot to learn about composition and control of DOF for this macro stuff.

Anyone wavering on whether to buy the 35mm macro - well it is a steal at the price especially before the last round of price rises make it through the system.

                  They're good

About how close were you to the flowers?

Thank you Ellie - very close, I didn't measure but probably less than a handspan in all images. First time I've seriously used liveview to aid composition.

Very nice Nick. It's such a crisp lens.

I'm sure you'll love it. I really regret selling mine, although the Sigma 105mm I bought instead gets me a bit further away.
