  • Stourhead Gardens (revisited)

The weather here in Wiltshire yesterday was just perfect for capturing the autumn colours at Stourhead Gardens. After a lot of publicity on the BBC the place was absolutely swarming with SLRs, particularly Canons and, surprisingly, quite a few Olympus users were to be seen. By about mid-day landscape work was impossible due to the number of people there. Here are a few of my shots:

    Photos taken with E-30 and 14-35mm, 35-100mm, 11-22mm and 50mm macro.

    C & C welcome.

    Thanks for looking.

Beautiful Steve, I can see why people would want to visit. I particularly enjoy the first two, I love reflections and these are very good.

Very nice; particularly the first two where the whole area has obviously been planted for autumn colour.

Can't help but wonder about our generations legacy, there are lots of municipal plantings of trees, but how many are aimed to mature into colour?

Oh WOW Steve - these shots are beautiful and brought back some lovely memories for me, as in the '80s on our first overseas trip we visited Stourhead. Lovely to see it again.

                          Thanks Lurcherman and Chevvy.

Yes, weather now on a downward slope. I went there a few weeks ealier and the weather wasn't too good and the trees were still very green. So waited for a better opportunity which was last Friday, then the weather turned again. Had to be quick this year, blink and you missed it. Forecast for next 5 days not looking promising for Warminster area.

                          Cheers all,

                          Steve

A cracking set of pixs. By chance I met another togger at the weekend who was singing its praises so much he got out his road map and gave me directions to it. I think t will have to next year for me,
