  • Going Moody - warning contains ducks..

and a church, but it's a long way away.

I don't often do dark; it's hard, a lot harder than bright sunlight. I need to worry about complicated things like exposure, and composition, both, and at the same time.

Anyway Fairford Mill (and church), E-PL1, 14-54. Almost a proper landscape.

Perhaps I'll still like it in the morning, I may not (in which case it could be gone)

A beautiful scene Nick, I like it a lot (and will do in the morning).
It has the look of an old oil painting and has a timeless quality. Except for the contrails and the washing "whirlygigg" in the garden (and these could be removed I'm sure) there is no indication of which century it was taken in.

      Thanks for sharing.

Yes lovely tranquil country shot Nick. Washing "whirlygigg" - Peter how ever did you spot that, talk about eagle eyes.

              Yes sad isn't it.
I suppose that as a birder I'm conditioned to look for small objects that a casual look would miss. To justify my comment on the timeless nature of the shot I looked for any signs of something modern. The contrails were obvious so I then used the zoom facility in my browser (Firefox but I think it works with Ie as well) to look for anything less obvoius. I only found the zoom facility a while back and it can be quite useful sometims. Hold down the Ctrl key and successive presses of + or - zoom in/out, Ctl and 0 returns to original size.

Now you know what a real Anorak I am.

                  Thanks All.

Contrails, well RAF Fairford is a fairly signifigant part of the local area so, for once, I think the contrails are appropriate.

Washing whirlygig, thankgod there weren't any undies on it for you to discuss.

Seems I picked a popular view point - as there are lots of shots on the web from about the same place, none (of course) quite as good as mine.
