This is one of our very popular Native wildflowers, now widely propagated and grown in gardens. I took this photo of it in the scrub.

Alyogyne huegelii - cultivated and sold as Hibiscus huegelii.

This is the dullest spring I can remember for a long time; grey and showery.

To me it looks like a kind of anaemic Hardenbergia on steroids, Lyn ... ! lol

Lyn, Hibiscus are next to Roses on my list of FAV flowers but I have never seen THIS one - beautiful colour and you have caught the light beautifully too

ps I also love Bourgainvillea and Turkey is just loaded with Bourgainvillea and Hibiscus in all colours Hopefully we shall get back next year

Thank you and I am glad you liked this one. I do too.
I can't grow Bourgainvilleas or Hibiscus here in the hills, but they are both lovely and to see them in Turkey would be very special. We are just so far away, and I would love to visit that area.

This looks very much like one in my garden, but mines a lighter shade of lilac than yours and I also have a white one. .

Lyn, now and then - I buy a few Hibiscus plants and a Bourganvillea plant too - they last for about 6 months on the kitchen (very bright sunny) windowsill - then as soon as our cold weather arrives (as per yesterday, nearly a frost) they die off !

But at least I do enjoy them for a few months ... and capture a few nice shots ... and thirst for holidays in Turkey oh! I just remembered we saw lots of them in the Seychelles too this summer I shall look out some photos ...

I enjoy them in the garden, but still get a kick out of finding them in the wild.
It is amazing how many of our native plants are now cultivated for the garden.
Some species adapt better than others.

Chevvy - I know exactly what you mean.
We should buy potted plants more often, enjoy them and when they die, chalk it up to having got enjoyment out of them.
If I buy a bunch of cut flowers (which I rarely do because I have a large garden), but when I do, I enjoy them and discard them quite happily when they are finished. But if I buy a pot, I expect it to go on for years!
And I still mourn when I lose a favorite plant!
