Commando Challenge 2011

On Saturday I was lucky enough to photograph two teams, "Wives do it Wet and Dirty" and "Texting and Tutting Teens" as they participated in this year's Commando Challenge; a charity event organised to raise money for the Devon Air Ambulance and The C Group. Participants are invited to complete a 4k run around the Royal Marines' Endurance Course on Woodbury Common, Devon. The course involves a series of tunnels, a freezing pond and the infamous 'Sheep Dip'. The course is challenging enough for most but it is a truly fantastic and rewarding experience watching these ladies conquer their fears as they overcome the obstacles. These are some of my favourite images from the day.

Well these shots were worth waiting for.

I think you've captured the spirit of the day very well. The ladies all seem to be enjoying themselves. All in aid of two very worthy causes so well done to them.

Thanks for all the comments. I managed to take almost 600 phots in the end which took a large part of Sunday to sift through. It was great fun to do and being able to offer the girls a momento of their day is a great reward in itself.
