  • Playing with new lens :)

    Bought a new lens
I bought DJMC's 14-54 and I'm absolutely over the moon with it

Headed out last week on one of the very rare sunny days (gorgeous sunset) nights to take some pics of my car. Light was running short and couldn't travel too far.
I don;t really do much tonemapping but was in the mood to have a bit play...

This was my fav of the bunch in love with the lens

This one was just a bit of a finger pointing mickey take at myself

The car's changed quite a bit in a week so chuffed I've got these as a reminder of what 'cheaper' insurance was like hahaha

Perhaps you should play some more, the first one looks like it could be straight from a car magazine!

The first shot is superb Susan. I would have been tempted to wait until the sun dropped a bit and put the side lights on.

        Excellent

Whereas I be tempted with No.2 to have been a fast driving rally driver coming over the bridge in the background of the photo and seeing whether I could clear jump the car that had been parked just over the brow of the hill!!

No.1 for me - the colours of the sky compliment the car's colour rather nicely me thinks!

            Hi Susan,

No1 - great light, great composition, great location and great tonemappping!

Glad you're enjoying the lens, it's my favourite too.

How's Garrie? Say "hello" to him for me.

              Thanks Steve, Chris & John

Chris, imagine the car in the photo is faster than a rally car!! (remember rally cars are limited to 300bhp )

Have passed on the message John, thanks, Garrie's hoping to be back on the forum soon once he's on the mend.

What have you got in the engine compartment - a few extra horses or a complete prancing horse? Is this a bit of a Q car? Sounds and looks like you have something special, including the numberplate!

nice shot in no.1 does the plate make it go faster?

                    Re: Playing with new lens

Long term plan is to have a Z20LET in it, so will be a bit of a sleeper, at that stage it'll be put back to standard to scare a few of the 'big boys' lol

The number plate was my wee pressi to myself when I got my corsa before this one, it adds a few bhp

The 14-54 is a great lens.

So ... what's it got in right now that pushes the bhp way over 300 ?

Nice pics. The first one is excellent, could have been used for advertising.
The second one features an interesting composition, pity the light is not that favorable but still a good one.
