  • Colourful Surprise!

Taken through a very dirty kitchen window - I had a few seconds to grab the camera and fire this photo off! Worth the sacrifice of a few wisteria blossoms. An Adelaide Rosella.

The bird and the wisteria make a very colourful combination and the background is nicely OOF to make an excellent picture.

A very good pose and composition, Lyn - shame about the dirty window but then photography must come first before housekeeping, right? lol It was a case of 'get it or forget it', as I say ...

I saw two magnificent King Parrots yesterday at Paddy's River, made a grab for the E-3 fitted with the 50-200 but they were gone as quickly as they came.

Thanks for looking John,Terry,Chevvy and Mark.
I was dead lucky that I had the 70-300 mm on the camera, sitting on the table and just had time to pick it up and fire away!
He isn't as sharp as I would have liked, but no time for MF. He shot off as soon as he saw me looking at him.
And the window really does need cleaning!

Very nice shot! The 70-300 is actual fun to use in these cases

You are so right. The 70-300mm is my favourite lens. That lovely bokeh rarely lets me down. Thanks for looking.

                  Re: Colourful Surprise!

Really nice shot Lyn - I'm sure you quite chuffed that you managed to get the bird before it flew off!

My 70-300 is always on the camera and is such a flexible lens - wouldn't be without it.

Of course, any shots I take out of the conservatory will be of black jackdaws, brown sparrows and if lucky the red breast of a robin! You are so lucky to have such colourful subjects to photograph.

                  Regards
                  Jeremy

Thanks very much Jeremy. Glad you liked the shot.
Rosellas spook very easily and he spotted me through the window almost as soon as I spotted him!
Considering this was a real Point and Shoot job, I was pleased when I downloaded.
We may have colorful birds, but how I would love to capture one of your robins.
