It's great that these iconic aircraft are still flying. Goodwood put on some great events.

Another interesting event you have here, Chevvy ... just a pity that you weren't blessed with a bright blue sunny day.

      Well done nonetheless.

Mark, as its mid September each year - usually our Autumn - grey skies prevail ! and this "action" happens from 3pm in the afternoon so the best light is well gone ...

John and Mark Thanks for viewing and your comments

Chevvy, Below are a few of the more postable shots from Goodwood Revival 2009. I ought to say here, although they were taken on Oly gear it wasn't a 4/3rds. If the mods want them removed I will happily comply. I will be taking my 510 this weekend.

Firstly a couple of the Vulcan Bomber

The best panning shot I took that day. Lancia-Ferrari D50

Spitfire Mk. Vb preparing for take off. I like this one because it shows the beautiful dihedral of the wings and empasizes how slim the fuselage is. Perhaps I should have cropped to centre it.

          The Battle of Britain Flight

Detail of Lister-Jaguar Coupe. I was trying to put across the suggestion of power beneath the bonnet. I took another image showing more carburettor inlets but it was out of focus

Aston Martin DBR1/1. I had noticed that every time this car came round this corner a burst of flame came from the exhaust. I was very happy when I nailed it.

I like your picture of the Battle of Britain Flight. Even in silhouette there is no question over what these amazing planes are.

It made me smile seeing the photo of the spitfire on the pit straight. Here is a link to a video of a slightly more exciting trip down the pit straight.

Ray Hanna did this without the knowledge of the CAA and, understandably, got a rap over the knuckles for it. I expect he dealt with that in his own inimitable way.

Sadly I will only be there on Sunday and I will be there with my son so I am not sure how much photography I will be able to do but I know it will be fun.

          Will
