Halifax town Hall (Warning: Big pictures!)

Ayup! This is where all me rates 'ave gone. They've spent it all down t'Town 'all

We popped in there six months ago (without camera) and I was determined to go back and have a proper look. This fantastic interior is just begging for someone to go along with the right gear

The Council Chamber



The guys on duty couldn't have been more helpful. I was most impressed with them and with the building :-)

These were 3 and 4 shot hand held panos. Nothing clever I'm afraid, autostiched in CS3.

Well, I lived for 17 years within 6 miles of this, and never went in. (mind you, they were the competition - I worked for Leeds CC!). Wonderful shots and a great Victorian edifice.

This is an amazing building, maybe they are commonplace amongst the old Pennine industrial towns, but it's in such nice condition. Perhaps they got Euro Money to refurbish it. Dunno.

I do know they have big plans for the Halifax Piece Hall, reworking it as an outdoor venue.

Hmm. Not sure about that at all.

I admire your shots, they are superb as is the building but! the incumbents who inhabit it are a lot of w*****s who are screwing whats left of the town within inappropriate buildings which will do nothing to improve the area.I suspect brown envelopes have changed hands. the people who commissioned the building will be rolling in the graves.

I am surprised at how well maintained the building appears to be. However, turning to the pictures themselves - terrific, lovely crisp detailed shots of a truly beautiful interior - a bit better than Croydon Town Hall , trust me.
