  • Ancient boat in decay

Went on a photo shoot with a cople of friends on sunday, came across this ancient river boat in decay at Lydney Harbour Gloucestershire, in the mud flats ion the river seven, there are around 50 boats scattered around the area.

Taken with my E30 and 14 42mm lens in the late afternoon well around 8pm the sun was just low enough to give this reddish tint with fellow photographer (Nikon user) in the back ground, he was very impressed with the E30 he didn't think Olympus could produce the dynamic range.

Lovely light and strong foreground, I love old boats. It's often the way that photographers who have never used Olympus have pre-conceptions based on magazine reviews and much of the utter rubbish peddled on the Internet. No surprise then that when they see an image from an Olympus they are impressed by how good it actually is.

Thanks John for your lovely comments, he thought I had used a polarized filter or some thing to get the rich colour and keep the blue sky in as well as the shadows, I just converted from raw no real touching up either.

      thanks again John.
