  • In the Forest

Continuing my exeriments with IR these were taken a few months ago during a walk in Ashridge Forest, a favourite of mine.

First two are just converted in PS using gradient map and curves, the third has added Fractalius.

Not sure these work for me Shirley. Shouldn't all the greenery show up as brighter...?

It depends on how it is edited. I have chosen to highlight the foreground and darken the background, using curves and layers. The idea was to emphasis parts of the tree rather than the whole, any brighter and the brightest parts would be blown.

In which case you have certainly succeeded here, Shirley.

          Hi Shirley,

To be honest the first two do nothing for me, but the third is different; very eye-catching and surreal. I don't even know what Fractalius is, but you have certainly made creative use of it here. The composition, too, is lovely and I like it very much indeed. To paraphrase Meatloaf, "One out of three ain't bad!"

            I'd agree with John (Zuiko).

The third one caught my eye as a 'nice' pattern of shapes.

I suspect the problem with the first two is that they don't seem to use the shape of the frame, but are isolated highlights.
