Just seeing how the sigma 105 would capture a well photographed subject.

                  Re: Lion's Head

thanks everyone..............while thinking of a reply about settings etc. I just remembered that I had not turned I.S. off........
I did have mirror lock up on 5 secs and 2 sec timer on a flimsy tripod though.
Shot in Raw ....f 22, 5 secs, iso 200 (should have been 100 - another mistake) Sigma 105 on the E510.

Please excuse my ignorance if you have time Ringneck......

I.s. not off- i take it this is a tripod shot so normally you would turn it off.

Mirror lock up - composing and focussing with live view so mirror locked to avoid vibrations due to the mirror moving?

5 secs and 2 secs timer - to avoid jiggle as the shutter is pressed in lieu of a remote trigger?

F 22 - to maximise depth of field, i thought this had a negative effect on sharpness but looking at this image...?

5 secs - ? exposure time? how did you light this please?

It is a fantastic image and if you have time to de-confuse me I would be greatful

I am too old to remember EVERYTHING

                        NOT live view

To help the flimsy set up...cheap tripod...settle down.Have a RM1(think)and it does not work from this side of the lens.

F 22 - to maximise depth of field, i thought this had a negative effect on sharpness but looking at this image...?
Yes dof...did not know about sharpness issues.

5 secs - ? exposure time? how did you light this please.
I was in a tiny storeroom at work and it was a strip light

It is a fantastic image and if you have time to de-confuse me I would be greatful.
Hope I have helped and thanks for looking and taking the time to comment.....glad you like it.
