  • First shots with the new E5

I have finally found time to process some photo's from my E5. Some of the features that I really like is the level gauge and bigger screen. I wanted a good backup camera when the E3 was in for cleaning/ repair, could use the same lenses and had the same dials as before.

The first shot is of a Japanese garden teahouse in Portland. No way to get around HDR on this shot, though I tried something new and cut in the outside planting scene from one of the better lighted outdoor shots. I think this gave it a more realistic look.

This is of a stairs shot from the top of a parking garage.

A couple from a hot rod show that was free and off the street. All of these are single shots processed in NIK and Photoshop. All hand held trying not to get bumped by people. It was raining before I got there, as you can tell from a couple of the photo's.

Marvelous shots, and a great eye for detail, colour and composition!
The addition on the first shot is wonderful!

The tyre is my fav from a good abstract set. The clarity and crispness of the rubber and droplets on the tyre is cracking, vefy well done, enjoy your new camera - it's a whole new world from now on for you

I like the last two especially - they could be studio shots

I really like the first of the mono images. The use of the diagonal and the water droplets work very well.

Re: First shots with the new E5

Thanks for the comments. I still have a ways to go to figure everything out on the E5. I just found the item that you can layer a couple of photo's in camera, but it's turned off and greyed. I have to read how to turn it on to play with this feature to see if I like it.
