    Its not often that I have seen Corfe Castle as a whole. Usually you see images of the keep but little else.

    I like the composition and the blue hazy background picks out the castle and mount very well.

      Good use of lens to put the castle in its context..

      It also illustrates one of photography's contrary rules:

      Want a good landscape picture? Use a telephoto!

      Two of mine -

      Indoors? Switch off the flash!
      Sunny day? Turn on the flash!

      Anyone else using counter - intuitive rules??

            Excellent shot of the castle. I think I drove along the road where you took this when I was coming back from Dancing Ledge on the coast last summer. I didn't take a photo then because of the haze.

            One small point. I know that Cromwell 'slighted' the castle, but I think the tower was left more upright than shown in your image! Perhaps it could benefit from rotating clockwise - about a degree.
