Good morning all,
A couple of bits of good news, the Tern have arrived back at the Oysterbed Islands. They arrived last Saturday night and are currently feeding to recover from the migration.

The male (behind) has returned to the island with some food as an offering to a female. This is part of the ritual to set up partnerships for the months ahead.

The Common Tern had spent the winter months in West Africa.
Another arrival last Saturday night was the White Throat. A Warbler that has spent the winter in Tropical Africa. Some have flown further north but others are setting up territories around the scrub in the harbour area. At this time they can be seen on the tops of bushes singing to attract mates and establish their own areas.

They will be rarely seen soon as they build their nests as they will remain in the shrubbery.
