Hi All
The thread on here about 'underground photos' and sites relating to them has encouraged me to post a few from a rekkie I went on with my wife recently. She advised me she had seen an air raid shelter that was opened by kids - I used to play here as a kid myself until the authorities decided to seal it up. On hearing it was opened, Jen and I went on a jolly jaunt.
Sarcastic early warning to avoid 'Oh, these are grunged up, HDR type images, if I'd have know that I wouldn't have looked':
Yes, OK, I admit it... there's no getting away from the fact that these are indeed 'grunged up' HDR type photos. So, if you don't like 'grunged up' then you're probably not going to like the shots, but if like me, you like 'grunged up' then you may be interested at taking a peek.
Unfortunately the shelter is once again sealed up, but we did manage a trip inside for an hour or so to take a look around in the darkness and the wet. It sure was dark in there, pitch black to be honest as you'd expect, but I managed to overcome my fear of the pitch black thankfully. However, I only wore my walking boots - which are waterproof in about 4"-5" of water, but in the 6"-10" of filthy red/black sludge that was on the floor of every room in here, meant I couldn't venture everywhere. I wasn't expecting it to be flooded as much as it was... ho hum.
