  • Helen's Puppies - What A Handfull!

I was quite surprised when my wife asked if I would like to photograph her friend's puppies and I jumped at the chance.

When we arrived it soon became clear that I had been under a misapprehension; Helen's dog had had...... puppies! Just as well, really, as under the other scenario 3 would have been, shall we say, a little weird.

Anyway, I sheepishly left the studio lights and reflectors (to fill in the under-shadows) in the car and reset the camera from single shot to 5fps; these puppies were moving fast and rarely still.

    Here's two of them play-fighting

Whilst they were busy doing that the third was up to mischief all of his own

And here's the proud mum, taking a well-earned break

Wonderfully cute Jack Russell pups and well photographed John.

My daughter will love these when I show her them.
    Regards Paul.
One day I hope to be the person my dogs think I am.

Haha! That second one (with the bluebell in its mouth) is a real classic!

          Great shots of Helens puppies

Interesting how the white faced one with Bluebell in mouth, has less of a sharp nose/muzzle and it makes such a difference to its eyes so it does not look JR breed pup !

What lovely shots of my favourite breed! Dibnah says Yap to them! Must admit to an initial disappointment when I first opened this post, but quickly turned to pleasure.

Super shots John, especially that second one

Nice word play also John, as Stephen commented I too wasn't quite sure what to expect after the left mouse click

The one with the Bluebell is a sure-fire seller to a calendar or card company. I've got a Jack Russell calendar, and this shot beats all of those into the proverbial cocked hat.

                        Re: Helen's Puppies - What A Handfull!

Hehe, I couldn't resist a little inuendo based on the slang meaning of puppies, luckily Debbie and Helen can both see the funny side!

Thanks for all the comments, it seems most people like the second one. He'd already picked one flower and I thought I'd missed my chance but I kept the camera trained on him hoping for a repeat and he duly obliged. Unfortunately it was Helen's prized clump of grape hyacinths, but he'd already virtually wrecked them anyway.

I've got it earmarked for my own range of cards which I'm hoping to launch locally in the next few months - once I get my printer sorted out, but that's another story. Got to get a move on because I've booked stalls at my first two fetes in July.

The puppy with the flower is called Clint and is one of the two puppies Helen's family have decided to keep, out of an original litter of five. As Chevvy said, he's got different facial characteristics from his brothers and sisters and at the moment doesn't really look like a JR, at least to me, but he is sooooooo cute! My favourite, though, is Dora, with the brown ears - on top in the first shot. They all say "Yap, yap" to Dibnah.
