  • Absent without Leave

I've not been here much recently

Spending too much time on my other project

I took her out for a run yesterday to see if I had fixed the items I was working on .. I can only call it a qualified sucess as there seems to be a lack of power possibly related to a fuel filter issue

Nice sun and a couple of classic 3/4 shots. for the 1st I didn't get low enough but that does mean you get a view of the Solar Panel (no it's not an electric car!)

Whether by the time I get the build finished I will be able to afford the deisel is quite another matter

    Regards
    Andy

Thanks for posting, Andy, I was wondering how you were getting on with this project. It looks totally awesome and very magnificent even before it is fully restored. Keep us updated, I hope to see it on a meet at some future time.

Andy is this an ex services ambulance ? or have you built the back?
My DH is converting a Bus to a SuperMotorHome - will find some photos! The 28 seats came out; then the "carpet like" wall covering; foam with tin foil either side was installed as insulation to keep in the cool or the warm; 4 Scania LGV1 fold up sprung beds were installed and in went a big AIR con unit. The big back windows were out and fibreglassed over; the "bus" foldaway doors went and new steel door at the front fittedl Storage boxes on the roof at the front and an aerodynamic ali skin fitted in front of them ; Now the Loo; Shower; Vanity units in; and the partitions for the sleeping area; cooking and dining areas are now being fitted.

The exterior has been rubbed down; filled ; rubbed down and is now ready for spraying ... Its such fun well DH is loving it ! and it should be ready for hols this summer - the fold up against the walls Scania beds mean that we can ride in 4 motorbikes and take off with 2 mates and our dogs ! touring!

I wish you as much fun in your bus as I hope to have in my ambulance

            Re: Absent without Leave

            Hi Andy,

I just popped out and snapped a few updated "evidence" pieces. This was a School Bus for Disabled Children - Nick bought it because the back drops down and a ramp slides out from under the "French Doors" at the back (once for wheelchair access) But NOW for riding Motorbikes in and out

Pics 1 & 2 full sides show 4 small Back windows have been installed (with roller blinds and Mosquito nets) for each Bunk !

Pic 3 Nicks fitted the Loo; Vanity Unit with pull down Basin; Shower and Tray and Loo window!
Pics 4 & 5 show Partitions have been installed to divide up the 5. Cooking & sink Area on the right and opposite the Diner area 4 (which he has built a topbox to store plates; mugs and condiments!

I shall enjoy reading your blog and seeing your progress with Katy ! (we must name ? the bus!)

              Re: Absent without Leave

Nice to see your additional evidence .. can Nick pop over and do some work for me as well

We have roller blinds and mozzie nets as well, and now I've oiled the rollers they work

Your project definitely needs a name

one minor suggestion re the forum.. you should put your pictures in the gallyery rather than attachments it makes them much easier to look at

              regards
