    St Nick's ( 7 x 0.7EV HDR, E-5 & 12-60), break in the weather on 7 Jan:

I keep coming back to this shot. Here's an earlier one with the E520:

and another on the 520 @ ISO 1600...

It's the juxtaposition of clock and graves that draws me to the scene!

    Thanks for looking.

The first is a lovely image nice and subtle. The last one doesnt really do it for me and is not in the same class as the other two, two crackers.

      Re: Passing of time

Thanks, Danny - I'd go along with that. The second one was used on a local magazine cover, although I hadn't left enough room at the top to get the weathercock in and then some. At some point I'm going to try for a spooky one at nightfall, or maybe in warmer months one at midnight (for the clock). Some problems with this particular shot:

      - prefer to have both graves and clock in focus (distance between graves and tower base is roughly 75 ft, plus elevation for the clock).
      - in daylight, dynamic range between dark yews and bright sky/white cladding of tower

The second one above was in fact a composite of two shots, one for the graves and one for the clock. The top one, though processed HDR, is the scene as it is.

The church clock and gravestones makes for a very apt title, Keith.
Though perhaps you should have taken the first at Sunrise, the second at Noon and the third at Sunset!
