I've never got a single sharp shot with the EC20. It seems to work only on the 50 mm macro. Neither before or after it crashed to the ground once when attached to the 50-200 and E 3. Camera and telelens were sent for repairs, but there was a halo around everything white on pictures taken before the crash as well, and nothing was sharp. I've now sent the ec20 as well. With the ec 14 attached, focus doesn't work at focal lengths below 70(x1.4), on the E5 it increases to 100. I don't know whether that's a general limitation, as when I'm using the converter it would be to increase focal lengths above 200, but during fieldwork I need to zoom in and out for versatility. Anyway I'm curious what they'll find. The 50-200 isn't pin sharp either. I've thought of replacing it, since I've tried another of the same and it was totally different. So maybe it didn't get repaired properly.

Certainly sounds like something is wrong there, halos would suggest some kind of optical misalignment.
I find my copy of the 50-200 to be very sharp and the EC-14 introduces very little degradation. The EC-20 does degrade the image quality more but I still find it a very acceptable combination to use in brighter conditions.

Thanks for sharing these pictures, impressive results I must say.

In return I would like to share a link to an article written by Andrzej Wrotniak about taking pictures of the moon. In that article is discussed what settings to use, Andrzej advocated manual settings and the "sunny 16" rule.
