  • Last of the Herring quota.

    Have not been out much but did manage to get some shots of the last boat landing the last of this years Herring quota. Messy work!

    well loaded!

    Two more of these to fill.



    Cannot get much fresher!!

    I like the first one showing the boat weighed down with the catch, but the rest don't take my fancy. I'm really not keen on the last one with half a fish in the frame, and other mangled bits and pieces.

    I'm not queezy about where we get our food from either, I worked on a farm all my young life and regularly beat for a local shoot these days, but it all looks a little rough and dirty to me.

      That is one heavily laden boat Ed and a nice shot of it too. If this is Kilkeel they will land a fair catch of shrimp and prawn too I think

      I love working harbours they are great for a wander around

        Thanks for the comments. Shots were taken in Annalong just up the road from Kilkeel quite a lot of the boats work Prawns. The shot of herrings was taken as it came it does show just what state the fish are in before getting tidied up for sale.
