  • In the Hanger ( 10 images )

    Hi,

Further to the "Blast from the Past" thread http://e-group.uk.net/forum/showthread.php?t=970 These are some of the aircraft images from the Fleet Air Arm aircraft museum, plus one or two other things that caught my eye.

Something to do with the engine...

Can anyone ID this plane from this shot?

I have no idea what this component is or why it is bathed in blue light!

Ditch the Mac....get one of these...

    Needs no introduction.

    The business end of SSC

The prototype SSC in all her glory.

This is the reason for the E3 delay. Oly were busy with something else....

Great place to visit if you are ever in the area.

      John -

Another fine set of images and my thanks for sharing them.

We took Anne's mother on Concorde just before her ninetieth birthday (now 92) the one that is parked in the Imperial War Museum at Duxford. She was surprised at the lack of seats and wondered why it had so many boxes - it was a prototype of course. I think it might have been the first time she had stepped aboard an aircraft, so quite a thrill for her.

      Thanks again.

      Regards. Barr1e

Nice set of images, I vote for a Sea Harrier too, there are not many aircraft with the air scoops that close to the cockpit. I went to Duxford a little while ago there are some great planes there, but getting good shots of them is difficult, because they are so crammed in. There appears to be a little more room here.

                    They're good, interesting too.

I really ought to make the effort to go there at least once, because my Dad was involved in making aircraft during the war. My Uncle was, for a time anyway, somehow involved with Barnes Wallace and also the Concorde project.
