Motorbike Panning

I wanted to have another practise at panning again today, so heres a few shots I took from Port Talbot Motor Cycle Club time trials, with my e-30 and 70-300mm

Don't know what to be looking for but if it's the feeling of movement and speed then 3 excellent images.
I know it's not a competition but prefer No3...I think maybe as it's got a diaganal in it.

Cheers Keith, yeah thats all I wanted to acheive was movement and speed (and take keep the subject sharp whilst panning)

2'nd and 3'rd works very well, nice shots.

Nothing technically wrong with the 1'st, other than the overall shape seems less satisfying somehow.

Superb!

Great focus at what appears to be a relatively low shutter speed.

Could no 1 survive a tighter crop with the rider being in the lower left corner of the image?

Yes the last 2 are quite low around 1/60 if I remember correctly, which was what I was trying to perfect, to get the best sense of speed.

Great examples of panning technique. The 2nd and 3rd ones work the best for me.

I like them all but number 2 the most. It's just the lack of anything else except the grass whizzing past.

Cheers Nick, yes I agree, usually the simpler a photo is, the better it is this photo was originally straight, but I titled it to give a better effect
