  • Evening walk

Some photos taken while walking the dog this evening, all taken with E-1 and 14-45 (and some with FL-20 flash).

Tim fearlessly wading through a pool (and yes, I was in the water too). Flash used in this one to expose the dog correctly.

Liked the reflection of the sky and the dog in the pool.

Tim obligingly posing in front of the sunset.

Used flash in this one just to catch the white of the wave in the foreground.

Spectacular sky to end off the evening. This is one of my favourite spots in Barry. The bench looks out over the Bristol Channel towards the islands of Steepholm and Flatholm in the distance.

    Re: Evening walk

Nice pics - Barry looks quite nice at night - when all the grockles have left.

        Re: Evening walk

Cindy, no grockes on this beach. It's a beach that only local dog walkers and fishermen ever seem to go to. Being next to the sewage works might have something to do with it.
Best beach in Barry, though IMO (so long as you don't actually want to swim).

        Huw, thanks.

          Re: Evening walk

          Lovely set of photos Huw..
There's nothing wrong with the swimming in the Old Harbour..
Years ago I used to swim, well splash about, in that pool that Tim is in. And if we were careful to step over the sewage on the beach, and the first few yards of sea, the swimming was fine..

I notice the Watchtower is still standing, but also new houses and flats since we used to play there.

Rocky, people were a lot hardier in those days
Yes, the Watch Tower is still there - pretty dilapidated though.

Dave, they only seem to go to the tourist beach round the corner.

Very nice photos, seeing as it was just a walk across the beach with your dog they was very intresting to look at, you have nailed the dynamic range perfectly

Steve, thanks. I have been impressed with the dynamic range of the E-1 - in fact I've been very impressed with it all round.
