Very nice, the satin creates an intriguing background to these lovely shots.

There is perhaps a little burn on the petals, particularly on the last two shots. But with pictures so well conceived as these I'm disinclined to criticise.

Thanks for the kind words gents, I am still getting to grips with photoshop elements at the moment so will be having another go at these and hope to improve if posible. My biggest problem is not making a note of settings and adjusments, it would have been nice for all of these images to have been closer to each other tonaly. ATB Martin

Yes I forget what I've done in PP and if I try to do it again they are always different.

          I like these a lot.

          Well done.
          All the best

            Re: Flowers on satin

Very nice pictures. I have a personal preference for the first shot though. this is because I find the highlights in the last three pictures a bit too much, I find them a bit distracting because they have no function (they don't highlight something that otherwise would not be visible enough). The more subtle highlights in the first shot make for a more balanced picture that is more pleasing to my eyes.
Nice experiment though, you have to try things out to find out what works (for you) and what doesn't. It made me think about why I like the first one better than the others, so I learn from your experiment. Thanks.

No.1 for lighting, No. 2 for composition.
I agree with Kees about the highlights. I would have held them down. The composition of No.1 feels a bit right sided and although there is something going on on the left, on my monitor, its a bit indistinct. Bringing that area up might help.
I see what you mean about tone. If they are raw files try working the basic conversions on all simultaneously and the final touches individually.
In writing this No. 3 is growing (no pun intended) on me.
