Henry Moore at Kew

I visited Kew gardens last weekend.I did not remember that Henry Moore's sculptures were dotted around the garden until I arrived.
I am not an expert but I like them a lot.







I think the Magpie in Number 5 seem to like it.

Great series of shots. So pleasing you had the weather. You must have been like that Magpie and stored those sunny conditions up.

I always find that great works of art are placed in a way that photograhers and viewers are blessed with poor backgrounds.

I'm pleased you have shown many like me by way of your pix what a great sculptor he was.

Erm, slightly off topic. When you say 'almost comparable to the E1', what do you mean? I've heard people say that before. Personally I'm not familiar with the E1 not having used one. Just curious thats all.

Hi Paul

We have had much debate about Oly colours on other threads over time.Quite a few of us agree that the E1 has a certain je ne sais quoi.Its I think something to do with what it does with reds ,also the way it handles blue skys.
Now I have been very happy with the colours on all my Oly cameras,I used to have the E500 which sadly had to go when I got my E3 but I will always keep my E1.

Thanks for that, Andy. I've heard so much about the E1 I'm very tempted to buy one,(at the right price of course ). I know there are some good S/H ones out there.

Just had a chance for a closer look at this set and very good images they are. Great subject material. No 1 intrigues me, did E3 expose this without adjustment? The lighting from the roof and the fact that there is a light and dark area might fool a lot of cameras. Your exif says it was centre weighted.

Have not been to Kew since I was a kid, but must take a look as it is not a million miles away. Thanks for posting.

I prefer centre weigthted to Esp I found the same with my E1.I do use spot sometimes ie with light backgrounds and as I use centre spot small most of the time I will lock exposure with AEL and recompose my picture.One thing I do like about the E3 is that you can change the single focus point to any of the 11 so you select which point you focus on.
Hope this make sence as I have have few beers.
Anyway back to dinner and some wine.

Ps go to Kew its great for pictures,I got myslef a season ticket,if you go more than three times a year you save.
