  • Silver Ground Carpet Moth

Think this is the Silver Ground Carpet Moth (Xanthorhoe Montanata).

Folowed this moth which is just over an inch for some time the other evening and waited for him to settle so I could get my settings sorted out.
Ended up with.....F22, 0.62 sec, iso 400 and 105 mm and mirror lock up and 2 sec timer, using the E510 and Sigma 105.@about 8.50pm.

WARNING....Don't wear shorts while carrying this manoeuvre ...you WILL get bitten/stung and many other nasty things will happen....had to visit the Docs and am on a course of Anti-biotics for a very swollen leg which has quite a few bite marks.

Excellent detail on such a small subject. Good advice on the shorts, I made the same mistake yesterday. No bites but plenty of bramble scratches and nettle stings.
    Thanks

Thanks Edmund....legs recovering.....if I am "on it" for a long time it swells and goes red but as I've got F1 followed by THAT match to watch it should have a rest.
