  • Lunchtime

I watched this female Reed Bunting this morning catching Damsels for its young but at the time only had the 50-200 with me.

So I went back with the Sigma 50-500 and the EC14 this afternoon.

Shame as this morning both the male and female were about.Still I'll go back next week.
    All the best

      Re: Lunchtime

Well caught Andy. Sorry for the Damsel though and birds have to eat and I'm not a vegetarian either!

        Re: Lunchtime

Outstanding image with the subject actually doing something....in this case being caught by a bird....lol

You might be better off with just the female as that head of the male is so hard to get right...hope you do it though.
How far away were you and was it from a hide as they never seem to come very close.

I was sat on the side of the river and the Bunting was on the other side about 30 feet away.I was using the Bigma and EC14 on a monopod, thats how I got away with 708mm at 100th of a second.

I will go back on Monday morning in the morning if the sunshines as earlier in the day the light will be better.

            Thanks Andy...
I keep forgetting to look if they are in the gallery so I can look at the exif.

30 feet is close enough for me and it really is worth it going early...if it's a morning like today it should be great...by about 7.30 - 8 the clarity was brill. If you can get a good angle to the light it shopuld be even better....mind you this shot will take some beating...look forward to an update.
