  • RSV (Respiratory syncytial virus)

I went down with the dreaded lurgi last Friday and spent the weekend as sick as a rabid dog. In five days I've gone though 3 boxes of Kleenex. Feeling better today, but not out of the woods just yet. Been fighting it with hot lemon drink laced with honey, Vit.C tabs, Chicken soup, and a bunch of herbal remedies that you probably haven't heard of. This is a nasty bug that I don't recommend, and highly contagious; the surest way to avoid it is to retreat in solitude to a cave in the mountain, where the worst you can catch is pneumonia! 🤧

Thanks Mark, two years ago as an un-vaxed 86 I survived Covid after 6 weeks of misery, so this one should be a piece of cake, as you British would say!

You could start sculpturing with those Kleenex. Then photo your creation .

Just an off note, Could all this be the aftermaths of the covid? (virus and vaccine) The reduced immunity in our system caused by it?

Thanks Henry, as said, I did get Covid, almost deliberately, because I wanted to know if it was as bad for the elderly.as touted. So I didn't get vaxed or wear a mask, and being in good health I survived. But RSV is not Covid, and as I've never been vaxed for anything, it is my hope and belief that I will now have a stronger natural immunity to both.

So you are one of those who didn't get vaxed and survived covid So this thought of mine of the vac does more harm then good is baseless. So I can thank my Gov on forcing the vac on us.

Whether Covid-19 vaccinations have done more harm than good is a question each must decide for oneself. From my perspective, based upon observation of friends and family who had no serious health issues, and got vaxed, is that.in most their health has declined dramatically. My late sister in law (67) with no previous diagnosed heart issues, died suddenly of heart failure within a few weeks of her first booster shot, which doesn't prove anything, but does make.one wonder. The question one doesn't hear asked, is that if Covid vaccines provide immunisation, then how is it that it evidently hasn't.

I caught Covid when it was relatively unknown at a gig in London February 2020. Pretty awful illness, like proper flu with bad upset stomach. My wife then caught it and had the evil sore throat and daughter followed with the dreadful cough variant.
Since then I've had five lots of vaccinations and wife seven (she had extra because of chemo)
In March this year I caught Covid at a wake and passed it on to my wife. Both of us had nothing worse than a mild cold with hardly any after effects.
Can only assume the vaccinations helped alleviate the virus. No idea what my natural defences are like, something that nobody knows so I'll take any help I can get.
Also have the flu shot every year and probably have the shingles one too now I'm eligible.

To some extent it sounds like the vaccinations worked for you and the wife, however, seeing as you both had lots of jabs prior to your March infections, you got off lightly. Sorry for the late reply.
