I do a lot of adapting legacy lenses to my mirrorless digital bodies. I do a lot of research before purchase.
Sometimes I adapt a lens of larger format to the camera, often for shift function. Recently, after reading rave reviews about it, I purchased a 645 Mamiya 210 lens and a Mamiya 645 TC. I already had at least one other Mamiya lens and a Mamiya 645 to Sony E adapter.
I don't use the Sony much so it, and its lenses, were in storage, fairly deep in our loft.
Having located the camera, which had the adapter attached and a lens fitted, I removed the lens and fitted the newly acquired one one, subsequently adding the adapter.
I took a series of quickie test shots.
I then proceeded to return the camera to my kit. The lens I had just removed looked rather too familiar. I had removed an identical lens and TC from the adapter to test those I had just tried out.
So, I am consistent! At least I now have the option of selecting the better glass, if there is a difference.
