When you look at events over the last 12 months it seems the yobs are slowly becoming the majority in this country. It would be interesting to know how many of those arrested at Wembley actually go to court. Those that do will no doubt receive a slap on the wrist and told to be good boys in future. I find the whole situation involving anti social behavior in the UK totally sickening, not only because of the acts committed but because of the total lack of willingness to prosecute and punish in a manner that fits the crime.

The yobs at Wembley should all have been tazered. They would understand that.

Football hooliganism in the UK is nothing new, sadly what is new is the cutbacks in the police forces that have been happening during the last few years. Also, months of restrictions and lockdowns have caused massive frustration to build up in many people, and when you put it all together you end up with a pressure cooker situation. I dare say the inability to use corporal punishment to enforce discipline in kids has contributed to the bad behaviour. The yobs think they can get away with antisocial behaviour because so much of it is either ignored or goes unpunished.

Many of those cuts have since been restored. There is no excuse for not properly policing an event like that.

With this appalling behaviour we don’t deserve to be champions of anything. Hopefully, this hooliganism will stymie all hopes of hosting the World Cup.

The beauty of not planning is that failure comes as a complete surprise and is not preceded by periods of anxiety

As a brit who has lived in France for the last 18 years it saddens me to see how a few knukle draggers have given the UK this reputation.

The people you describe as yobs and knuckle draggers are on the whole not the teenagers and young 20 somethings you think they are. I did stewarding at some football ground in Yorkshire, and the worse offenders were well dressed men in their thirties/forties.

The older ones are worse, having developed their beliefs and behaviour, due to having been allowed to go unchecked

It's a very small minority who seem to get all the headlines.
