Re: PCSOs do it AGAIN
I wonder if they do it just because they are bored out of their skulls and want a bit of entertainment, doesn't seem any other reason. There is no way that any plod would casually walk up to someone seriously considered to be a terrorist and ask them to stop taking piccies and, by the way, where did they get that unusual waistcoat

Re: PCSOs do it AGAIN
Umm let me think...........Oh yes I remember there's.. ME!Originally posted by Ken Lister View PostBurgess Hill a terrorist target? Remind me, just what is there in Burgess Hill worth blowing up?
Ah yes and then there's the premises of the Mid Sussex Camera Club
and don't forget Park Cameras, some of the forum members quite like to shop there, what would they do? In fact I believe they are having an Oly promo day on Sat directed at the EP1, it simply wouldn't do for the shop to be blown up before Saturday now would it?
But I think I know what you mean Ken
Oh well if you all don't hear from me for the next 6 years or so it's 'coz I've been locked up by the local PCSOs
Wish me luck.

Re: PCSOs do it AGAIN
I'm sorry - but all the evidence supports the fact the he was guilty, and any PCSO was within their rights to have him banged up.
I charge him with the following crimes
- Being interested in his surroundings
- Having enthusiasm for his hobby
- Behaving differently to anybody else
In addition I offer the following facts. If he was a normal law abiding citizen he would
- Have been scowling
- Looking fixedly at the pavement in front to him
- Hurrying from one place to another.
We well know the acceptable uses of photography are
- To take pictures of your children (if both you and they are fully clothed) and after obtaining permission from the state (school) or other official body.
- To take pictures of your granny (if you are a child)
- To take pictures of your/other peoples 'private parts' and circulate them on the internet (only if you are a teenager).
Take his DNA and SEND HIM DOWN.

Re: PCSOs do it AGAIN
Interesting to hear about it on BBC breakast again today with yet another incident
The Chief constable (British Transport Police) who was interviewed was quite clear there is no good reason for these stops so hopefully this message will be getting to some of their people through the media if briefings don't work.
Also he made an intersting point that after a "stop and Account" questioning people do not have to give their name and address.
from the Association of Police Authorities website http://www.apa.police.uk/APA/Feature...nd+Account.htm
Stop and AccountHopefully all this will get out there as a message and we'll stop being harrassed
Following a direct recommendation from Sir Ronnie Flanagan's Review into Policing, the Home Secretary has changed the recording of police stops.
The idea is that those who are stopped (but not searched) by the police will not now have to give any personal information e.g. name and address, and the officer will not have to fill out a long form, therefore saving everybody time!
To ensure accountability of the police, the officer will still need to let the person stopped know who they are (by giving them a receipt or business card with their details). The ethnic background of the person stopped will still be recorded so that we can ensure that the police are using their powers fairly.
At least with these messages and websites for information I feel a lot more comforable in saying NO to nonsense requests
