Re: Police and Photography
must just be me but the email in full seems entirely reasonable and consistent with any large organisation - put a different way I would be firing someone in that position if publicity pictures or inappropriate images were around to be used!
I find the article to be deliberately provocative - and it knows exactly what it's doing as illustrated by it's use of shortened quotes.
as I say - probably just me.E, Pen and OM-D bodies

Re: Police and Photography
With respect. The statement I take offence to is
That last part is deliberate falsification. If thet choose not to use an image that is at odds with their corporate policies that's OK. But to falsify the past ... HmmmIf you are reprinting or updating any existing documents or materials, including moving images, the opportunity should be taken to check whether the photographs meet this instruction. If not, they should be changed.

Re: Police and Photography
What really worries me is the implication that the problem of police officers deliberately concealing their identity is far more widespread than the Met have publicly admitted. I find it quite alarming!

Re: Police and Photography
Nothing unusual - it was normal for 'Maggies Boys in Blue' to do it during the miners strike when they went on the rampage!Originally posted by Zuiko View PostWhat really worries me is the implication that the problem of police officers deliberately concealing their identity is far more widespread than the Met have publicly admitted. Re: Police and Photography
now you are doing it Andy - what on earth is wrong with substituting image A for image B in marketing material when image B no longer conforms with either brand or practice?E, Pen and OM-D bodies

Re: Police and Photography
On reflection (and 2 weeks Holiday) I came back and read the article again in a calmer tone of mind so I need to get off my high horse a little.
When I read it I read "change the image" as "photoshop it to add the numbers"
I can see that others read it as simply "swap it for another"
If that's the case then OK I suppose, but it was still an unclear instruction and people could think thay have been instructed to photoshop the past which I would have no truck with
