  • Peli good

As Anne and I keep adding years, one is afraid of frailty (hopefully not for the next few years) so I puchased a Peli 1510 case. It has wheels and three handles, one of those for pulling it.
It was also bought for difficult journeys and in particular train travel. I'm hopeful Anne may let me put some of my gear in too. I'm given to understand it can be can stowed in an aircraft overhead locker.

A quickly taken image to show members this case.

They are super tough cases and will take every thing the baggage handlers can do to it.

It will likely take you a week to work out all the different ways to put the gear into it.

    TIP

Once you have it how you want it, take a picture (post it here, for us to admire) then empty it out and vac all the bits of Velcro that get dislodged during all the ripping in & out of the dividers. I was surprised by how much comes off

Bl***y 'ell, how much photo gear do you travel with?

I have a large Kinetics case that needs to be replaced with a larger one to carry my marine video and DSLR housings, strobes, arms, ports, cables etc. The problem that I will have is that the empty case will alone account for nearly all my baggage allowance and my carry on bag containing 2 DSLRs, lenses, camcorder, batteries and chargers weighs over 10kg. My dive kit weighs another 20kg and my total baggage for this summer is looking at around 55kg. I think the credit card is going to take a battering.

Love to see it with your gear in it. I have been thinking about one of these and only the other day I decided that after the current trip, wet lake district, I will get one.
Good price from the link you provided.

Don't fly Ryan Air - it'll probably be cheaper to charter your own flight!

The Peli case looks great. Unfortunately SWMBO gets agitated enough with my Tamrac Expedition 7 (which doesn't hold all the gear I'd like to take on holidays...), so I don't think I'll be buying one soon!

I'd also love to see it with your gear stowed Barr1e. Oh dear: my addication to gear p*rn is a terrible thing...

Don't worry Hugh. Cryin' air is one airline I would never use

              Re: Peli good

Thanks all for your input and thoughts.

As we are busy tomorrow I have taken a quick pic of the case with some equipment in. I know in normal circumstances we will have the lenses off the cameras with the front cover on the body which will allow at least one more lens to be included. It seems to me to be just about the right size - even if you only had one body and say four/five lenses + HLD-4 etc.
