    A bit of a warning for owners too - parvovirus can be transmitted to humans. It is not all that common but produces unpleasant symptoms similar to Rheumatoid Arthritis. Being a virus there is no particular treatment available but it does clear up eventually. In the 2 people I know who contracted it this took up to a year!
