  • It's been a hard day's night...

    The ensuing conversation went thus:

Mother: "My wee son, how do you find the English students?" she asked.

Wee Jock: "Mother," he replied, "they're such terrible, noisy people. From all sides, they all keep banging, shouting and screaming all night long".

Mother: "Oh Donald! How do you manage to put up with these awful noisy English neighbours? I do hope you never loose your temper."

    Wee Jock:
It's not what inspires us that is important, it's where the journey takes us.

There's a statement in that that is absolutely wrong, Wally! "quietly playing my bagpipes"!

How did the association of music and bagpipes come about?

Are you saying that "music' and 'bagpipes' are mutually exclusive, Nigel? Even, dare I say it, Northumbrian bagpipes???

Someone likes to live dangerously. According to my Irish side of the family, the bag pipes originated in Ireland.

If the Wee Man reads this you could have every Irish pipe band in the world marching up and down outside your house 24/7 for the next six months... quietly playing the bag pipes.

They'd have to find me first! I merely said "Northumbrian" bagpipes, because I was answering Nigel's post.....
