  • St Augustines Art Show Paintings Sold

Now don't get excited, none of mine were among them!
This isn't the show at which "I'll be the Judge" on September 1st.
The St Augustine's event opened last Friday and closed on Sunday.
It was held at Wodonga, the next main town 70km north of Wang' towards Sydney.

All 5 of my unsold works are automatically entered in the Holbrook Art Show opening next Friday, so I've still a chance.

Of the 211 entries these are the 23 that sold (*none are mine)

I was surprised at the relatively low prices that most of these artists had on their works.

By comparison mine were priced well above the average so I was not surprised that none of mine sold.

My purpose for identifying those sold was to get an idea of public taste in this community and what they will bring.

Some lovely paintings there, and a super standard of work.

FWIW, I would have paid $80 for number 24..................

It's a photograph Mike that in some sense relates to your own love of the seascape.
The photographer is Sue Coughlan, it's titled, "Paradise Found". The art show has a photography section.

My bad framing of No. 47, "Venice Reflections" by Linda Delaney has cropped it in half - therefore it's worth only $200

My 5 pieces were priced at, $400, $600, $600, $750, $800 and I have to admit that from a buyer's pov there were plenty of better buys on offer than mine.

Edit: Don't worry too much about the exchange rate; when our property investment bubble bursts, likely sooner than later, the rate may well be in your favour.
