  • Decided to go on a workshop...

I was very impressed with Tesni Ward's images and talk at The Photography Show. I spotted on the Olympus Image Space web-site a workshop she's running on coastal birds so decided to give it a go. I know very little about wildlife photography so I thought it would be a good way to find out if it's for me. It's on May 16th at Flamborough. I think I'll go up on the Mon 15th and stay overnight. Looks a nice part of the world so there'll be opportunities for some landscape shots too.

    Anyone else interested?

That looks like a very good day. I see it is actually based at the RSPB Reserve at Bempton Cliffs. Gannets breed on the cliffs there and are so close that you can smell them. You don't need a long lens for them. Would suggest that you book two nights so that you can go back there the next day to put into practice what you have learnt!

Sounds interesting. Long way for me to travel, if you could find out the typical cost of local overnight stay and post back I'll find out if I can get time off work.

Excellent, I'm sure it'll be great. I'm keeping an eye on her workshops to see if there's one I can make, but nothing yet.

I saw her talk at the NEC.
Funny though, when I looked at her website it shows her with a massive c***n lens on some DSLR.
          I did enjoy her talk.

Been to Bempton a couple of times, a bit of a drive for me, I go on route to somewhere else, but got some nice Gannet picks. Enjoy your workshop Paul.

Tesni was at the Marwell Zoo day on the 4th March and she mentioned how she had migrated from big Cannons to the EM1 MKii and was getting so much more usefulness.

I saw the workshop too Paul, and although we couldn't make it, it will be interesting to hear how you get on.
