  • Snow brings havoc to Cirencester

I am having trouble with this E30 competition thing.. I have seen plenty of winter but not much that is beautiful so far: Maybe the salt that is encrusting the rear of my car?

Anyway: This from Cirencester today. Back to work tomorrow. Sigh!

Clever title! I though I was going to see snow drifts, and be sooo envious!

    Same here.

It's odd, we're having frost but it isn't lasting and it isn't hitting the trees either. I don't think I've ever wished for very cold weather before, but a day or two would be a great help.

Same here. Not much of 'the beauty of winter' in suburban Surrey and it is most unlikely I shall be entering - so you are not alone. Originally the competition was announced as 'images of winter' which had me thinking of e.g. commuters struggling down from the station on a dark frosty evening. But beautiful they ain't and as the title was changed to 'beauty' I guess I'm out (unless a boring macro)!

Well beauty is in the eye of the beholder - I personally regard myself as handsome!.

(From someone else yet to find a winter beauty)

            My garden looks the same.

I've been wondering if I can get away with using a Model named "Winter" and trying a whole different approach

That would be the creative solution

No, not yet, but I found some very hard water this afternoon over near Beaulieu

With a 'thinking outside the box' idea like that, you'll probably win the competition

For what it's worth, the winter hasn't been very 'beautiful' here either - until Monday when I had to go back to work, that is ! I gave up waiting for snow and frost to strike and so put up some rather uninspiring images - plus a 'boring' macro shot, just for Keith (Makonde) !

At last.. Something cold and reasonably beautiful to photograph..

I managed to get some passable shots and upload them into the compo this morning. Brrr. Cold though...

This one: 90mm Tamron with flash at first light this morning
