Re: Image taken with GX7: 'Window Light'
Hi there Ricoh!
A lovely shot - and you (and the camera) have done well to get some definition in the view outside the window without it seeming too badly burnt out. I also love the pose - you couldn't have asked for better positioning for "breaking the lines" in a Damien Demolder style. A great shot and a great spot - was it in the Tate North at the Albert Dock?
Cheers,
Ralph.

That's a very nice shot Steve. I agree entirely about art galleries being great places for photography too - they're great places for observing people.
Don't want to hijack your thread so I won't post images here, but here's a couple I took in The Louvre in Lens (northern France):

Re: Image taken with GX7: 'Window Light'
That is a lovely image which could 'say' almost anything.
Somehow I have never managed to make silhouettes work for me. Maybe I am too busy trying to fill in the shadows.
However, I would be very interested to know how you metered for this effect?---------------

Re: Image taken with GX7: 'Window Light'
Thanks Nigel.
I exposed for the lighting in the window reveal, everything else was allowed to do its own thing. I did a bit of work in LR, but not that much as far as I remember; probably played with shadows, highlights, and added contrast. This was one of the few b&w conversion done completely in LR since I normally use SEP2. But in this case the colour channels didn't carry important information, and anyhow I had decided in my head how it should look before I pressed the shutter release.
