No, but if you're bored with that try getting affordable travel insurance!

I'm afraid I can't help with your problem Wally. Apparently I will be receiving it automatically this year as I qualify for Pension Credit. I hadn't even heard of the scheme before the letter arrived. When I saw the official-looking letter I thought "Oh b*gger, what is it now?" I was delighted when I saw the contents, though, as I was dreading the winter fuel bills.

This is yet another 'well kept secret' that I stumbled upon last year.

Those on benefits apparently get put onto the system without proving anything in relations to earnings. Whereas, those not in receipt of benefits, need to apply - should you be lucky enough to find out if it even exists.

For those, like me who do not auto-qualify, you need to apply to your utility company. You can check online via your utility providers website and the application forms will explain what conditions you need to meet - to gain £140, it is worth a look-see - this covers both gas and electric as it is added to your payments as a credit.

"Essentially, you need to be over 62, get free prescriptions and, have an annual income of less than 16k.
        "

This year, the payment is for £140, so it's well worth pursuing if you think you can meet the above criteria.

Strangely enough, this year, my bank statements - last 3 months, original RAF pension payment details along with the original HMRC State Pension and tax details for 2014 - 2015, along with my Birth Cert., doesn't allow them to detrmine how much I get per annum? Last year, all of the above details didn't seem to pose anyone any problems.

Presently, I'm requesting info from the DWP, HMRC and the RAF pensions with regards to abtaining pension payment information in readiness for nex years quiz show.

When I first retired, before the state pensionable age, I went to the social to check if I had paid enough contributions for the pension. I was advised by a senior CC that I was eligible for Employment seekers benefit and given the forms to fill in which I duly did. Two weeks later I received a letter stating that as I was in receipt of a small occupational pension I was ineligible for WSA, apparently you can have a million in the bank to be eligible, as long as you're not receiving a pension of any sort. Not many Benefit Advisors know this!

Seems we both, like many others, made the mistake of getting on our our bikes and worked for a living. Should have stayed at home, drinking beer, smoke fags, pop a few buns in the oven and watch TV. Due to stress, get a heart attack and get disability payments on top.

Is it any wonder some of us get more grumpy as time goes by?

I checked on the Npower site and it seems that you also need to be receiving some sort of disability allowance!
