  • Today ? what are you doing or this week ?

Oh WoW ! Another week in Retirement - how time flys, it is now our third month and life is slowing down a pace, thank goodness.

The first month (September) we gave up on the Developers Planning Application and declined to extend our "Option Contract". Which meant MANIC efforts of clearing most of our personal belongings (not used every day) and all but "essential" minimalist furniture to our Storage Container.

This meant me dusting and cleaning and bubble wrapping "all that stuff" we had on glass shelves; window sills and all over the place Nick made up the "Argos brown moving cardboard boxes" and loaded to his VW T4 Razorback van and was to and fro the Container unloading them

Then, we embarked on a massive "tidy up" of repair of plaster work ; washing down of paintwork and repainting and repairing plaster work / tiling and whitening the tile grout - for the Estate Agents Photographer.

After nearly two years, of living in our home (which was to be demolished) we had a lot to make up for in "Maintenance".

As Nicks 70 and myself 60 we were * tired out and took up a few short holiday stays with friends to recover

Now, Nick has replaced 10 of the 39 6ft x 6ft panels of our rear garden fence (tops broken by past neighbours cats climbing up and over ) and painted/creosoted the remaining "good" ones - I have cut and chopped up the small trees (without TPOs) into 12 inch pieces and Nick has taken 4 x Builders 1 tonne bags, 3 times a day to the Recycling Skips last week

I find myself with 3 main tasks this week

    Ironing

End of Year Accounts to be completed for the Accountants and Companies House

    and making Christmas Cards

I am so enjoying this morning, in the once my working from home office, then the Children we cared for, playroom and now MY PLAYROOM !

I might do some Ironing when watching "Move to the Country" or Doctors
and accounts tomorrow hate doing them !

What have you been up to ?

What are you planning to do this week ?

ps if you want to see the "home" I can put up a hotlink to the Estate Agents ?

Derby tomorrow, off to Selhurst rail depot wednesday to change a bearing on a train. Found a free fireworks display at Southall park so somewhere to play wednesday night as I am staying down in the city. Mess about at another depot thursday and back to Derby. When I get back home a can always go and have fun with my twin grandaughters now 14 months.

Pretty normal boomeranging up and down the big blue line that is the M1.

Hi Wellyboot - we were selling to Developers who were putting 3 x 1400 sq. ft houses on the nearly half acre site = knock down our sprawling bungalow

I put some washing on this morning and hung it out at lunchtime and left the ironing and housework for another rainy day ... made lots of Christmas cards instead (much more fun)

Nick fed Mr Huggy Henry this morning and tonight, beat me to it and I did not take him for a walk today ... busy making cards and suddenly its dark ... and Nick had poured me a glass of fruit juice (healthy stuff full of anti oxidants = red red wine) and it would have been rude to leave him drinking at home, alone

Just back from a day in London seeing the poppies. First proper outing for the Fujis which behaved themselves quite well considering I'm still learning how to tame them.

It was crowded but the procession was moving and it was quite easy to get to the fence for decent views. It took about an hour to walk round the moat perimeter.

Only had a quick look at the pics so far - they're not a patch on Shirley's!
