The photographer as antichrist, from today's Guardian

Considering it was all done in the darkroom and on the artists table, his work was revolutionary. Today he would be only one of the masses of Digital Artists
I'm always mindful that like many photographers, his standing comes from the celebrities that feature in his images.
In comparison to the created images we see today his were very tame, but none the less highly creative.

But Adams darkroom work was to extract the best from a negative, he also changed the image density over time depending on the evolution of the paper and chemicals.
