  • I pad as live view

I did not want to muck up the other thread about tablets.
I've seen StewartG thread in the E1 section (went right over my head )

So............ question: can I somehow use my Ipad as a live view "screen" for macro photos. I have an E1 & an E520 so no bendy screen, besides which with me eyesight that would not help very much anyway.
    E1, E520, ED14-42, ED 40-150, 70-300, Various legacy including 50mm f2 macro.

I can't see how.....will now go and find that other thread to see what's prompted your line of thought!

    OK - I see.

basically the iPad's not the greatest thing for such connectivity (possible understatement...)

cheap windows laptop running Olympus Studio software connected to the E1 at one end of the scale and the solution in that thread at the other
    E, Pen and OM-D bodies
    43 m43 and legacy glass
loads of flashes and accessories from all the systems

You can with the most recent OM-D E-M1 and Pen E-P5 but I think that's it. It's completely a non-starter with the E-1 as it has now live view capability at all. The E-520 has live view but the only way to see it via another device is via the composite video output port and iPads can't hook up to this.

Look for a VA-1 Angle Finder (not grinder) to get low angle shots with an E-1, it looks like this
